About the Team The AEC has a dispersed network of 150 electoral divisions across the nations States and Territories. The AEC’s Victoria State Office is located in Melbourne CBD with a number of single and multi-divisional office sites across the State. The Service Support Officer and Service Officer positions support divisional Team Leaders and work in a agile team. The AEC has opportunities across Victoria including an:

- APS 2 Service Support Officer (Part-time) in Ballarat Victoria.
- APS 3 Service Officer (Full-time) in Geelong Victoria.

For the delivery of a federal election or local by-elections, staffing rapidly expands to help manage the increased workload around risk management, fast moving project work and logistical activities, media and public scrutiny. The Opportunities The Victoria State Operations team are looking to engage a Service Officer and Service Support Officer to contribute to work that has a direct impact on Australia’s democratic processes. The roles combine customer service, administration, project support and election delivery to help ensure Australians can participate in democracy with confidence.

The Service Officer and Service Support Officer roles, provide frontline support to the public, responding to enrolment enquiries and processing a variety of electoral enrolment applications. The role requires attention to detail, sound judgement and problem-solving skills to help maintain the accuracy and integrity of the electoral roll.

During the delivery of a federal election, staffing rapidly increases, and the Service Officers and Service Support Officers are responsible for assisting in the supervision of the Temporary Election Workforce (TEW), while also contributing to operational delivery plans for their team, and the smooth running of event operations in their nominated division.





The Electoral Service Officer positions (APS 3) are full-time, and the Electoral Service Support Officer (APS 2) positions are part-time roles, with full-time arrangements activated during periods of electoral event activity.

- The ability to resolve routine operational issues, suggest improvements and contribute to operational outcomes.
- Accountability for managing allocated work, supporting projects and providing guidance to team members when required.
