The Senior Clinical Psychologist provides expert senior clinical leadership, consultation and guidance across the service, including management of complex/tertiary-level presentations, advice to multidisciplinary teams, and contribution to strategic service development. (e.g. standards of practice, clinical quality and safety, supervision frameworks and models of care). The role provides advanced consultation, supervision and mentoring to psychologists (including trainees/registrars and postgraduate clinical psychology students), supports the SHBBV Psychology Unit Manager with service planning and quality improvement, and representation of the service in internal and external forums (e.g. universities, statewide SHBBV services) to strengthen clinical standards, capability and collaboration.

The service operates within SHBBV services and provides statewide tertiary sexual health and HIV/BBV care to priority populations, as identified in the NSW STI and HIV Strategies. The psychology unit provides quality client-centred, evidence-based psychological services to ensure the provision of optimal health outcomes of people affected by HIV.

Selection Criteria:

1.



Full registration with the Psychology Board of Australia, with Endorsement in Clinical Psychology, a minimum two-year full-time equivalent Master or Doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology, along with minimum of 5 years postgraduate experience. Accreditation with AHPRA as a Board Approved Supervisor.
2. Demonstrated advanced expertise in the assessment, diagnosis, formulation and evidence-based psychological treatment of complex presentations, including trauma, crisis, risk issues, and co-occurring mental health, psychosocial and medical conditions, such as working with HIV and/or other chronic health conditions (sexual health, drug and alcohol, mental health).
3. Demonstrated expert experience in evaluation, quality improvement and/or research, that requires higher level knowledge and translate findings into measurable service improvements, and/or clinical practice development and reporting requirements.
4. Experience providing specialist consultation and clinical advice to multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders regarding psychological care pathways, risk assessment/formulation, escalation processes and management of high-risk or complex cases.
5. Demonstrated leadership in clinical supervision, mentoring, workforce development and education, including supervision of psychologists and students, facilitation of training programs, and fostering safe, ethical and evidence-based clinical practice.
6. Demonstrate higher level written and verbal communication skills, organisational skills and time management skills.
7. A willingness to travel in accordance with the demands of the position.
