What You’ll Do Based in Brisbane, this position provides single-point leadership accountability for the safe, disciplined, and on-schedule delivery of Midstream Major Shutdowns. It integrates Operations, Maintenance, Projects, HSE, and Contractors to minimise safety risk, schedule impact, and operational disruption.
Reporting to the Shutdown Manager within the Midstream & Energy Solutions division, you will set clear expectations for safety, schedule, and execution discipline across all shutdown activities.
Key Accountabilities Include Providing end-to-end single-point accountability for Major Shutdown delivery, setting clear expectations for safety, schedule, and execution discipline
Championing an 'Always Safe' safety culture and ensuring compliance with HSE standards, permits, SIMOPS,Brock Rothe and fatigue management requirements
Leading shutdown planning and readiness reviews, ensuring scopes, resources, materials, and contractor plans are mature and executable
Leading daily coordination and issue resolution, maintaining schedule control and preventing scope creep through strict governance of late work requests
Directing and coordinating multiple contractors during mobilisation, execution, and de-mobilisation,
and managing interfaces between Operations, Maintenance, Projects, and Contractors
Maintaining oversight of critical path and recovery strategies, monitoring performance against milestones, productivity expectations, and KPIs
Leading shutdown meetings and providing clear, concise reporting to leadership on priorities, changes, and risks
Assessing and approving execution changes per shutdown governance, and escalating material risks, delays, or deviations early and appropriately
Ensuring structured, safe, and controlled return-to-service and stabilisation, confirming completion of critical work scopes and clearance of execution risks
Leading lessons learned, performance reviews, improvement actions, and supporting commercial and operational closeout activities
What You’ll Bring You will be experienced in:
10+ years’ experience in operations, maintenance, shutdowns, and turnarounds within the Oil & Gas, LNG, or energy sectors
Extensive hands-on experience leading shutdowns, turnarounds, or campaign maintenance events
Integrated shutdown scheduling, execution, and workforce management
Directing and coordinating multiple contractors and managing complex interfaces across Operations, Maintenance, Projects, and HSE functions
Making timely, risk-based decisions to protect critical path in high-pressure environments
Strong stakeholder communication, with the ability to lead daily coordination meetings and provide clear reporting to senior leadership
Your leadership drive and deep technical expertise in shutdown delivery will be critical to success in this role.
