Structured classification progression from Trainee to Senior Operator

Bitu-mill runs BildGroup's road profiling crews Nationally. You will run the skid steer with the profiler and sweeper attachments, cleaning up behind the machine so the surfacing crew can lay to spec, and you will drive the truck between the depot and site. Profiling happens when the roads are quiet, so the work rotates between day shift and night shift across the week.

What you will be doing

Operate the skid steer, or bobcat, with the profiler and sweeper attachments on road profiling and resurfacing works

Clean up milled surfaces and edges so the pavement is left ready for the surfacing crew

Drive the truck to move plant, attachments and materials between the Campbellfield depot and site

Carry out daily maintenance and repair work on the machine and attachments, and complete your pre-starts and paperwork

Work alongside the profiler operator and the rest of the crew under traffic management on live roads

What you will need

Current truck licence, HR preferred, and a current car licence

Bobcat or skid steer ticket, with demonstrated competence operating with attachments

Construction induction card, or a booking for one before you start on site

Availability to rotate between day shift and night shift, including weekend work when the program requires it

Willingness to obtain a Profiler Safety Licence if you do not already hold one





Practical, but not essential

Time steering a profiler, sweeper or shoulder paver work, or a background on an asphalt or road maintenance crew. If you are new to the industry and hold your licences, talk to us about the New Starter pathway.

What you can expect

Wages paid weekly, into your account by Wednesday

Night shift allowance of 80% of your wage rate on ordinary hours worked at night, and 100% on a Saturday night

Daily profiler allowance on top of your hourly rate when you are working on the job site

Daily fares and travelling allowance for work within 50km of the Melbourne GPO

If you are driving a vehicle over eight tonnes, your shift is paid from the time you leave the depot until you get back to it

13 rostered days off a year, on a published calendar, plus four weeks annual leave with 17.5% loading

Income protection insurance and accident make-up pay, so you and your family are covered if you are hurt or unwell

Weekly redundancy fund contributions to Protect, and long service leave through CoINVEST A paid Mental Health Day every year on the first Monday in December

All PPE, work clothing, wet weather gear and a winter jacket supplied and replaced on fair wear and tear

When work takes you outside metro Melbourne overnight, accommodation and an allowance for meals and incidentals
