Job Description
GO.FARM is an Australian-owned, high-conviction agricultural investor, developer and manager with a clear purpose: to transform Australian agriculture.
n
We identify underutilised and undercapitalised agricultural assets and reimagine them through land use change, investment in people, and adoption of climate-smart technologies. Our investment decisions and operations are underpinned by our Responsible Agriculture Framework, which guides our stewardship of natural capital, people and communities.
n
About the role:
n
We're looking for an Asset Manager to drive the financial, operational and physical performance of a portfolio of GO.FARM agricultural assets.
n
Reporting to the Head of Asset Management, this is a commercially focused, farm-facing role that connects what is happening on the ground with financial performance, investment strategy and long-term asset value.
n
In this role, you will:
n
n
- Monitor asset performance against approved business plans, budgets, forecasts and investment objectives.
n
- Analyse financial and operational results to identify material variances, risks and opportunities.
n
- Develop and maintain asset plans covering priorities, capital requirements, risks and value-creation initiatives.
n
- Partner with and constructively challenge Farm Leaders on asset performance and key operational drivers.
n
- Maintain a regular presence across allocated farms and build a strong understanding of production systems, asset condition and operational performance.
n
- Identify and assess capital requirements and support business cases for infrastructure, development and improvement projects.
n
- Review financial performance, forecasts and operating assumptions across allocated assets.
n
- Support budgeting, valuation, benchmarking and investment analysis.
n
- Identify opportunities to improve capital efficiency, operating performance and long-term asset value.
n
- Support acquisitions, developments, refinancings, recapitalisations and divestments where required.
n
- Monitor delivery of approved projects and value-creation initiatives against scope, budget and expected outcomes.
n
- Act as a key link between farm operations and GO.FARM's Asset Management, Finance, Investments and Development teams.
n
- Provide transparent asset-level reporting, recommendations and insights to the Head of Asset Management and farm leadership.
n
- Contribute to stronger asset management systems, reporting, planning and decision-making across the portfolio.
n
n
About you:
n
You're commercially minded, analytically strong and comfortable working across both farm and corporate environments.
n
To be successful in this role, you'll bring:
n
n
- Experience in agricultural asset management, agribusiness, commercial management, finance or a related field.
n
- Strong commercial and financial acumen.
n
- A good understanding of agricultural operations and key performance drivers.
n
- Strong analytical capability and the ability to interpret financial and operational data.
n
- Experience with budgets, forecasts, business cases and capital expenditure.
n
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
n
- The ability to challenge constructively without stepping into operational ownership.
n
- Confidence working across farm, finance, investment and corporate teams.
n
- A willingness to travel regularly across GO.FARM assets.
n
- Relevant tertiary qualifications are desirable but not essential.
n
n
Why work for GO.FARM:
n
At GO.FARM, The GO.FARM Way shapes how we work, support each other and grow together.
n
You'll benefit from:
n
n
- The opportunity to influence the strategy and performance of a growing Australian agricultural portfolio.
n
- Real investment in your development, including 5% of your annual salary dedicated to learning.
n
- A values-led culture built on being humble, caring, respectful, courageous, curious, solutions focused, driven and fun.
n
- Flexibility through enhanced leave options, salary sacrifice opportunities and competitive incentives.
n
- Wellbeing programs that support your financial, physical and mental health.
