Who are we looking for? We are seeking a Space and Facilities Officer to join Faculty Operations, Faculty of Science. We are seeking a Space and Facilities Officer to join Faculty Operations within the Faculty of Science. This role is responsible for coordinating a broad range of space, facilities and logistical activities that support the Faculty's teaching, research and engagement environments. The position plays a key role in the delivery of faculty-led space development projects, including renovations, fit-outs, relocations, furniture upgrades and other workplace improvement initiatives, ensuring projects are delivered efficiently and in accordance with University policies and procedures.

The Space and Facilities Officer is required to develop effective working relationships across a broad range of faculty and university communities, as well as with external contractors, suppliers and service providers. The role provides operational support across space planning, facilities management, access control and logistics coordination, while maintaining accurate records, supporting compliance and audit activities, coordinating contractors and vendors, preparing reports and proposals, and contributing to the continuous improvement of processes that support safe, sustainable and effective faculty operations

The Faculty Operations organisational area consists of Professional Staff providing operational support to the faculty, and includes Financial Management and Technical Services & Space Management.

The Technical

Services & Space unit comprises of the Space, Assets, Logistics and Technology support team, Chemistry and Physical Sciences technical support team and Earth, Environmental and Biological Sciences technical support team Faculty Operations is led by the Director of Operations and is supported by the Senior Management Accountant and the Technical Services & Space Manager..

What You Need To Succeed

- Education, training and/or relevant experience equivalent to the completion of a degree in conjunction with relevant work experience.
- Demonstrated project delivery experience within the context of space and facilities development activities.
- Proven ability to prioritise tasks, critically evaluate systems and processes and work collaboratively in a complex and changing environment.
- Demonstrated high-level interpersonal skills to provide quality client service, including prompt and courteous client responses.
- Demonstrated ability to contribute to the cultural development of a team to achieve outstanding, team-based results.
- Demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity and Indigenous Australian engagement.

A current C class Australian driver’s licence is required. A High-Risk Work Licence (Forklift) is also necessary; however, training and certification can be arranged for the successful application.
