The Opportunity MinRes is seeking an experienced heritage professional to lead field-based cultural heritage programs across our Yilgarn, West Pilbara and Central Pilbara operations. This is a senior site-based leadership opportunity where you will guide a capable heritage team, build respectful relationships with Traditional Owners and provide trusted advice to operational and project leaders.

Your work will help ensure cultural heritage is understood, respected and effectively managed throughout our operations.

The Superintendent – Heritage Field will lead heritage surveys and field-based cultural heritage management activities across MinRes operations.

You will provide practical and strategic advice, oversee field programs and work closely with Traditional Owners, site leaders, heritage compliance teams and project stakeholders. You will also build team capability and ensure heritage activities are delivered safely, respectfully, efficiently and in accordance with legislative, agreement and operational requirements.

Your Key Responsibilities

- Provide strategic cultural heritage advice that supports legal compliance, responsible heritage management and operational requirements
- Lead the planning and delivery of heritage surveys, research, monitoring and compliance activities
- Establish and maintain respectful,



constructive relationships with Traditional Owners and other key stakeholders
- Support formal and informal heritage consultation processes and represent MinRes at relevant meetings
- Develop and implement site-based Cultural Heritage Management Plans, procedures and protection measures
- Deliver heritage education and awareness initiatives, including inductions, pre-starts, procedures and leadership briefings
- Coordinate field logistics, stakeholder participation, equipment, resources and asset allocation
- Oversee heritage field planning, reporting and administration in line with internal systems, regulatory obligations, agreements and project schedules
- Manage heritage incident processes, including investigation, escalation and reporting where required
- Monitor budgets and expenditure associated with heritage field programs
- Work collaboratively with operational leaders, approvals teams and Traditional Owners to identify heritage constraints and support effective project planning
- Lead, coach and develop an inclusive, safety-conscious and capable heritage field team

What You Will Bring

- Tertiary qualifications in archaeology, anthropology, cultural heritage management, land management or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience
- Demonstrated experience leading teams in complex operational or field-based environments




- Strong knowledge of the Aboriginal Heritage Act 1972 (WA) and its application to heritage compliance, approvals and fieldwork
- Proven ability to build positive, respectful working relationships with Traditional Owners
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to work effectively across cultures and with diverse stakeholder groups
- Sound judgement and the confidence to make informed decisions in changing or time-sensitive situations
- The ability to manage competing priorities and deliver accurate outcomes within tight timeframes
- Strong written, administrative and computer skills, ideally including approvals reporting and incident management systems
- Experience developing and communicating heritage procedures, management plans and organisational processes
- GIS capability, including ArcGIS and handheld GPS devices, or the ability to develop these skills
- A current Western Australian driver’s licence and the ability to safely operate a 4WD; a formal 4WD qualification is desirable
- A current Senior First Aid certificate
