Abt Australia are seeking to engage a Contracts Administrator who can provide technical expertise to support the Director – Contracts & Digital and Contracts Manager in the management of Abt Australia’s enterprise contracting activity.
The position will develop and maintain trusted relationships and high customer service standards with all key internal and external stakeholders.
Specific Duties
Contracts:
- Support the Director – Contracts & Digital and Contracts Manager in the development, implementation and continual improvement of a pragmatic and innovative framework for contracting activity in close consultation with program and corporate stakeholders, including the corporate policies, processes, templates, systems, and data analytics supporting client, consultant, subcontract, grant, supplier and property contracting and procurement.
- Support the Director – Contracts & Digital and Contracts Manager in corporate entity management.
- Provide technical advice and undertake contracting and procurement activity in respect of complex and high value contracts, including reviewing and approving (in line with delegated authority) consultant, subcontract, grant, supplier, property and other contracts.
- Develop and maintain expertise in and current awareness of changes to the laws and client procurement rules relevant to Abt Australia’s contracting activity.
- Support Abt Australia‘s Business Growth teams in the contracting aspects of new business opportunities being pursued.
- Support Abt Australia and Abt Britain’s Program Delivery and in-country Program teams in relation to the contracting aspects of Program mobilisations, operations and demobilisations as needed.
Entity Management:
- Coordinate director/shareholder approvals, statutory filings and registrations, with a focus on international branches and subsidiaries.
- Support establishment, maintenance and closure of entities, branches and registrations across operating jurisdictions.
- Maintain company records and corporate information.
Legal (if candidate is legally qualified, but not required):
- Support the provision of practical, accurate and timely legal advice, training and other legal support to the company and its subsidiaries on a broad range of legal issues as required, under the direction and supervision of the Head of Legal and the Senior Legal Counsel.
General:
- Other reasonable duties as required.
Key Requirements

They will also have:
- Minimum 3 years’ prior relevant work experience;
- Experience in government contracting and procurement;
- Experience in the international development sector;
- Degree in law in Australia;
- Demonstrated ability to build strong stakeholder relationships in cross-cultural environments;
- Good written and verbal communication skills;
- Good problem solving and attention to detail skills;
- Demonstrated ability to work both autonomously and in a small, dynamic team environment; and
- Demonstrated ability to work concurrently on multiple complex tasks and to respond to changing priorities.
