Temporary part time opportunity to provide expert clinical knowledge and clinical care for consumers/patients with a variety of conditions and support research processes through role modelling and application of the principles of contemporary evidence-based consumer/patient focused care, education, leadership, and portfolio management.
About the role
Temporary part time opportunity to be responsible for screening and recruiting of eligible participants, obtaining informed consent, performing midline catheter insertions, and monitoring participants throughout their study involvement. Working closely with clinical and research teams, the Research Nurse will collect high-quality study data, ensure protocol adherence, and contribute to the successful conduct of the trial.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
- Respond appropriately to and provide support and direction to manage sudden alterations in the health status of the consumer/patient using advanced nursing assessment and intervention skills.
- Provide advice, education and support to patients and the families of patients involved in research to facilitate informed decision making.
- Support an evidence-based learning environment and participate in learning activities/opportunities for self and others.
- Integrate organisational policies and guidelines with professional standards by maintaining current knowledge and participating in relevant policy review.
- Demonstrate advanced clinical skills and problem-solving relevant to the care of consumer/patient relevant to the MATRIX clinical trial.
