Looking for your next APS contract opportunity? We are seeking an experienced APS6 Project Officer to join a collaborative government team on a leave backfill contract through to roughly 14th January 2027. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous Federal or State Government experience who can hit the ground running and contribute to a range of project, stakeholder engagement and committee support activities. The role offers a hybrid work arrangement with a supportive team environment. The role supports intergovernmental projects, committee coordination, stakeholder engagement, research, policy support and project delivery activities. You must be an Australian Citizen to apply.

Your new role
As the APS6 Project Officer, you will:
- Support the delivery of a range of strategic projects and initiatives.
- Coordinate committee meetings and provide secretariat support.
- Prepare agendas, meeting papers, briefing notes and correspondence.
- Conduct research, literature reviews and analysis to inform decision-making.
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders across government and industry.
- Assist with procurement, contract management and financial administration activities.
- Monitor project progress, identify risks and support reporting requirements.
- Work collaboratively across teams to achieve programme outcomes.
What you'll need to succeed
- Previous experience working in Federal, State or Local Government.
- Demonstrated project coordination or project management experience.
- Robust written communication skills, including experience preparing briefs, reports, meeting papers and correspondence.
- Experience providing committee or secretariat support.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Experience with procurement, contract management or financial administration is highly desirable.
- Strong research and analytical skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- You must be an Australian Citizen to apply.

- Hourly rate of $73-$83 per hour + super this will depend on your experience.
