Hinksman Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced and reliable Cabinetmaker to join our team on a full-time basis. The successful applicant will be responsible for the fabrication, assembly, finishing, installation and repair of cabinetry and furniture products, with a strong focus on quality, accuracy and workmanship.
About the Role
This is a full time position working 38 hours per week, based at our premises in Seaford, Victoria. The successful candidate will be involved in the preparation, fabrication and assembly of cabinetry and furniture projects and will be expected to work accurately from plans, drawings, specifications and work orders.
Tasks and Responsibilities
As a Cabinetmaker, your duties will include:
- Reviewing and interpreting architectural plans, technical drawings, cabinetmaking plans, work orders, specifications and sample components to determine job requirements, measurements, construction details, materials, fittings and appropriate fabrication and assembly methods.
- Selecting, measuring, handling and preparing appropriate materials, including solid timber, timber veneers, particle board, MDF, plywood, synthetic wood and other related products.
- Measuring and marking out timber and board materials to establish accurate dimensions, cutting lines and component positions.
- Cutting, shaping, drilling, routing and machining timber and manufactured board components to specified dimensions using appropriate hand and power tools.
- Operating woodworking and finishing equipment, including sanding machines, hand sanders, polishers and other relevant equipment.
- Fabricating and preparing cabinet and furniture components, including doors, panels, frames, shelves, drawers and other components.
- Assembling timber and manufactured board components to produce furniture sections and completed cabinetry, ensuring proper alignment, fit, functionality and workmanship.
- Fitting and adjusting cabinet hardware and associated fittings, including hinges, locks, catches and drawer runners.
- Inspecting materials, components and completed cabinetry and furniture to ensure accuracy, quality and compliance with job requirements.
- Carrying out adjustments, modifications, repairs and corrective work where required.
- Repairing, restoring, modifying and refurbishing finished wooden furniture and cabinetry.
- Receiving and checking materials and goods and maintaining tools, equipment and work areas in a safe and serviceable condition.
Benefits
The role is full time. The salary for the position is between $78,000.00 and $88,000.00 plus superannuation depending on experience and qualifications. Other benefits include those required under the NES.
