Join our team as a Maintenance Crew Supervisor (Southern Moreton Bay Islands)

Join our Island Operations team and lead the delivery of essential maintenance services that keep our Southern Moreton Bay Island communities safe, connected and thriving. From roads and drainage to parks and conservation areas, you'll oversee a diverse program of works while leading a dedicated crew in one of the region's most unique work environments.

For eligible mainland-based employees, work time commences from ferry boarding and applicable travel allowances apply.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Lead and support a dedicated maintenance crew delivering civil, drainage and open space maintenance services across the Southern Moreton Bay Islands.

- Plan, coordinate and monitor daily work programs to ensure services are delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

- Conduct daily pre-start meetings, allocate resources and provide clear direction to crews and contractors.

- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental and operational standards while promoting a strong safety-first culture.

- Coordinate island logistics, including materials, contractors and scheduling, to support seamless service delivery.

- Monitor work quality, undertake site inspections and provide technical guidance to team members.

- Manage work orders, procurement and reporting activities to support operational performance.

- Build positive relationships with internal stakeholders, contractors and the local community.

- Identify opportunities to improve processes, productivity and service outcomes.

Skills and experience:

We're looking for a practical leader who enjoys working with people, takes pride in delivering quality outcomes and can confidently manage day-to-day operations in a dynamic environment.

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

- Experience supervising civil maintenance, construction, infrastructure or similar operational teams.

- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, coach and develop staff while maintaining accountability.





- Practical knowledge of workplace health and safety practices and a commitment to creating a safe work environment.

- Experience planning and coordinating work programs, resources and contractors.

- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and operational demands.

- Confidence using digital systems to manage work orders, reporting and operational activities.

- Well-developed communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

- A current Queensland Driver Licence and the ability to undertake site-based supervisory duties.

Eligibility:

- You'll hold a current Class C Drivers License.

- You'll hold a Certificate IV in Civil Construction Supervision and/or Certificate III in Horticulture (or equivalent qualifications), or significant relevant experience in a similar role and the ability to rapidly acquire a Certificate IV in Civil Construction Supervision or Certificate III in Horticulture.

- You'll have a minimum 3 years' experience in a relevant field.

- You'll have the ability to participation in after hours on-call Roster, and other overtime as required.
