Ongoing | Band 3 $70,286.32 per year plus applicable allowances as per the EBA
We're looking for an Experienced Maintenance Employee – Urban Parks Maintenance to join our City Presentation team. In this role, you'll help maintain and enhance Council's open spaces, parks and reserves through a range of turf, grass and horticultural maintenance activities that keep our municipality looking its best.

What You'll Be Doing
- Undertake turf, grass and open space maintenance across parks, reserves and other Council-managed areas.
- Safely operate and maintain plant and equipment including ride-on mowers, tractors, brush cutters and other specialised maintenance equipment.
- Perform general horticultural maintenance and routine turf and grass mowing activities.
- Assist across maintenance operations throughout the municipality when work priorities require.
- Ensure all works are completed safely and to Council's required service standards.
- Contribute to a culture of customer service, teamwork and continuous improvement.
About You
You are a motivated and reliable maintenance professional who enjoys working outdoors and takes pride in delivering high-quality work. You have experience in turf and grass maintenance, can operate a range of plant and equipment safely and effectively, and enjoy working as part of a team to achieve great outcomes for the community.
Key Selection Criteria
- Practical experience performing turf and grass maintenance for a Municipal Council or similar-sized operation.
- Proven experience in the safe and competent operation of plant and equipment used in turf and grass maintenance.
- Sound knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety requirements and the ability to follow policies, procedures and protected work practices.
- Demonstrated commitment to customer service, teamwork, continuous improvement and Council values.
Essential Requirements
- Current Medium Rigid Vehicle Licence.
- Construction Induction (White Card).
- Current Traffic Control and Worksite Management Certificate.
- Current Farm Chemical User/Herbicide Application Certificate.
- Practical experience in turf and grass maintenance and/or general horticultural maintenance.
Desirable
- Current First Aid Certificate.
- Experience working with a Municipal Council or similar authority. We encourage applications from candidates with diverse backgrounds and experiences, even if you don't meet every requirement.
Successful applicants will be required to apply for and satisfactorily obtain a National Police Check, Working with Children Check and successfully undertake a pre-employment medical check.
