Permanent Industrial Painter position now available at a large-scale marine maintenance facility in Brisbane servicing barges, tug boats and large commercial vessels.

About the role:
You'll be applying protective coatings to large commercial vessels, barges, tug boats and marine structures in a heavy industrial workplace.
Day to day, you'll be:

- Preparing surfaces through sanding, grinding and abrasive blasting
- Applying industrial protective coatings using airless spray and other methods
- Working with two-pack epoxy, polyurethane and similar coating systems
- Mixing coatings to manufacturer specifications and ensuring correct thickness and finish
- Masking, identifying surface defects and completing remedial preparation




- Working at heights and in confined spaces around large vessels

What you'll bring:

- Previous experience as an Industrial Painter
- Strong surface preparation experience and a willingness to sandblast
- Experience using industrial spray equipment, particularly airless spray
- Availability for 6am starts and a genuine willingness to work significant overtime
- Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and police check

Experience across marine, shipyards, heavy fabrication, structural steel, mining, oil and gas, heavy machinery or protective coatings will be highly regarded. A trade qualification is preferred, though strong relevant industrial painting experience will also be considered. Tickets such as EWP, Forklift, Working at Heights and Confined Space are highly desirable.
