Flinders Port Holdings own and operate Flinders Adelaide Container Terminal, the port of Port Adelaide as well as the six key regional ports of Port Giles, Port Lincoln, Wallaroo, Port Pirie, Klein Point and Thevenard.

About the role
Flinders Adelaide Container Terminal (FACT) is the beating heart of South Australia’s container trade. As part of Flinders Port Holdings, the state’s leading port services group, we handle containerised imports and exports from across the globe at a world-class facility in Outer Harbor.
FACT operates 3 shifts across a 24/7 operation, using top-tier equipment, including three post-Panamax cranes and a 25-strong fleet of Straddle Carriers, to keep things moving efficiently and safely.
As a casual Stevedore, your day-to-day could include:
- Securing containers onboard vessels (lashing/unlashing)
- Operating heavy equipment like Straddle Carriers and forklifts (we’ll train you)
- Working as part of a team to safely load and unload cargo
This is just the beginning, many of our team have gone on to become crane/rail operators, team leaders, clerical/planning operators or safety coordinators. Your career pathway is up to you!
This is a casual role where the hours are dependent on shipping requirements. The successful applicant will be comfortable with working unpredictable and diverse hours to accommodate customer requirements and vessel schedules.
About you

- Physically fit, including ability to lift up to 30kgs, climb ladders and work at heights
- Happy working outdoors including in all sorts of weather conditions
- Can commit to shift work (24/7 operations, including weekends)
- Follows safety guidelines and is a willing learner
Please note:
- Shortlisted candidates must hold a current Drivers Licence and provide a National Police Clearance by 16th October 2026.
- Shortlisted candidates must be available to attend an assessment centre for 3-4 hours on either the 19th or 20th October 2026.
- The commencement date for this role is 23rd November 2026.
