Help give our youngest learners the strongest possible start.
Georgiana Molloy Anglican School (GMAS) is seeking an experienced and team-oriented Early Childhood or Primary Teacher to join our Learner Access and Early Intervention team as Learner Access and Early Intervention Coordinator – Early Learning (Kindergarten to Year 2).
This unique position combines 0.40FTE coordination responsibilities with a 0.40FTE teaching load, providing an opportunity to remain actively connected to classroom teaching while making a broader contribution to inclusive education, early intervention and the learning, development and wellbeing of children across our Early Learning community.
About the role
Working collaboratively with the Learner Access and Early Intervention Leader – Primary, you will help identify children requiring additional support and coordinate the plans, adjustments, interventions and documentation that enable children to access and participate meaningfully in their learning.
You will work alongside Teachers, Education Assistants, families, School leaders, psychologists, counsellors, allied health professionals and external agencies to provide a coordinated and evidence-informed approach to supporting children from Kindergarten to Year 2.
The role includes coordinating and reviewing documented plans; supporting reasonable adjustments and accommodations; participating in case conferences and family meetings; contributing to NCCD and Inclusive Education funding processes; supporting enrolment and transition; and assisting with evidence-based intervention programs including Sounds-Write, SHARP Reading, Bond Blocks and Talk for Writing.
About you
We are looking for an educator who understands that early intervention is most effective when children, families, educators and specialists work together.
You will be an effective Early Childhood or Primary teacher with a strong understanding of the learning, developmental and wellbeing needs of young children. You will have experience supporting children with diverse and additional learning needs and using assessment, observation and student data to inform appropriate intervention and differentiation.
You will also bring sound knowledge of inclusive education processes, including NCCD and Inclusive Education funding requirements, together with excellent communication, organisation and relationship-building skills.
Above all, you will be a collaborative and thoughtful practitioner who builds positive relationships with children, families and colleagues and is committed to creating an inclusive environment in which every child has the opportunity to participate, learn and thrive.
