Experienced Barista – High Volume Café | Casual or Full-Time

About the role

We are looking for experienced Baristas to join our team as soon as possible at Mountain View Cafe, located within the beautiful Mary Caircross Scenic Reserve in Maleny, approximately 20–30 minutes from Caloundra.

We are a busy, high-volume destination cafe with a robust coffee trade. This role is best suited to someone who is genuinely confident behind a commercial coffee machine and can move quickly through busy services while maintaining quality and consistency.

We have flexibility around hours and may have multiple positions available, ranging from a couple of regular shifts each week through to full-time hours for the right person.

What you'll be doing

- Preparing and serving high-quality coffee and beverages

- Working efficiently on the coffee machine during high-volume services

- Dialling in grinders and making adjustments throughout the day to maintain consistent extraction

- Maintaining consistent milk texture, coffee quality and presentation during peak periods

- Delivering friendly and efficient customer service

- Maintaining a clean, organised and well-stocked coffee station

- Assisting with cashiering and other front-of-house duties when required

- Working closely with the wider team to keep service running smoothly

- Being willing to jump into other areas of the cafe when needed

What we're looking for

- Strong commercial barista experience, ideally 2+ years in a similarly busy environment

- Confidence jumping straight onto the machine and handling high-volume service

- Ability to work quickly without sacrificing coffee quality or consistency





- Confidence dialling in grinders, monitoring extraction and making adjustments when required

- Strong milk texturing skills and the ability to consistently produce quality coffee and latte art

- Valuable understanding of espresso, extraction and commercial coffee equipment

- Calm, organised and efficient during peak periods

- Friendly, approachable and reliable

- Strong communication and teamwork skills

- Willingness to assist in other areas of the cafe when required

- Someone who genuinely enjoys hospitality and working as part of a team

Availability & roster

Weekend availability is essential for this role. Applicants must be available to work weekends as part of their regular roster, along with a mixture of weekday shifts depending on availability.

We highly value consistent availability and would particularly love to hear from people who can commit to a regular pattern of days each week.

We can be flexible around the total number of hours, with opportunities ranging from a couple of regular shifts each week through to full-time hours for the right person.

We are looking for people who can start as soon as possible.

Mountain View Cafe is located within the stunning Mary Caircross Scenic Reserve in Maleny, overlooking the Glass House Mountains.

We are a large, busy destination cafe serving high-quality coffee, fresh food and in-house baked goods in a warm and welcoming environment.

Our coffee section can get genuinely busy, so we're looking for people who enjoy that pace, know their way around a commercial machine and take pride in producing consistently good coffee no matter how many orders are coming through.
