Your new company
Your Federal Government Department is responsible for shaping workplace relations, employment policy and programs that support Australian workers, employers and communities. They are seeking an APS4 or APS5 Executive Assistant to join one of their divisions to support a First Assistant Secretary or one to two Assistant Secretaries due to recent staff movements.
Your recent role
You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of executive offices, managing competing priorities and acting as a trusted point of contact for stakeholders. Your key responsibilities include:
- Managing complex calendars, inboxes and scheduling requirements
- Coordinating domestic travel, meetings and events
- Preparing briefing packs, correspondence and meeting materials
- Monitoring action items and ensuring deadlines are met
- Managing records and maintaining accurate systems and documentation
- Liaising with internal and external stakeholders on behalf of senior executives
- Coordinating branch activities, governance requirements and divisional workflows
- Supporting the delivery of employment and workplace relations initiatives through high-quality administrative support
To be considered for this role,
you will need to be an Australian citizen and hold a Government Security Clearance at the Baseline level or higher.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful, you will have previous experience in a similar role and within the Federal Government. You will also have exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail, the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment, strong written and verbal communication skills, sound judgement, discretion and professionalism, a proactive approach and strong stakeholder management capabilities and experience using Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word and Excel.
