About the role

Life Purpose Australia is looking for friendly, engaging and reliable Disability Support Workers / Youth Mentors to join our teen social programs in Wembley. This is a hands-on mentoring role where you'll be matched with a young person and provide 1:1 support within a small social group. You'll help them connect with their peers, make friends, participate in activities and outings, and build confidence, independence and everyday skills.

Key responsibilities

- Provide 1:1 support to a young person within the group

- Help them connect with peers and develop friendships

- Encourage confidence, communication and social skills

- Support independence and everyday life skills

- Get involved in activities, cooking, games and community outings

- Provide prompting and support based on individual needs and goals

- Transport the young person to and from the program where required

- Complete brief shift notes following each support

About you

- Genuinely enjoy working with teenagers and young people

- Friendly, approachable and energetic

- Comfortable joining in with activities and outings

- Can encourage independence without taking over

- Reliable and able to commit to regular shifts





- Willing to learn about each young person's individual support needs and goals

- Communicate well and enjoy working as part of a team

- NDIS Worker Screening Check

- Working With Children Check

- First Aid and CPR

- Current driver's licence

- Reliable vehicle and appropriate insurance for client transport
