At Carey we're looking for an experienced Payroll Officer to join our Head Office team in Malaga.

As a key member of our team, you'll play an important role supporting a diverse workforce across our growing mining and resources business.

What You'll Be Doing

No two days are the same, but your responsibilities will include:

- Processing end-to-end payroll accurately and on time

- Maintaining employee records and payroll data

- Ensuring compliance with tax, superannuation, awards, and employment legislation

- Responding to payroll enquiries and supporting employees with payroll-related matters

- Preparing payroll reports and reconciliations

- Identifying opportunities to improve payroll processes and efficiencies

What You'll Bring

We're looking for someone who combines payroll expertise with great attention to detail and a positive, team-focused attitude.

You'll ideally have:

- Previous payroll experience, preferably within mining, resources, construction, or a similar industry

- Strong understanding of payroll legislation and award interpretation

- Experience using payroll systems such as Pronto or SAP

- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills

- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills





- A knack for staying organised and meeting deadlines

- A proactive mindset and a willingness to contribute to continuous improvement
