About the role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Dental Assistant to join our team at Doubleview Dental Clinic in Doubleview, WA 6018. This is a part time position that plays a vital role in supporting our dental practitioners and ensuring smooth, efficient operations within the clinic. The role will be four days per week with the option to also work Saturday mornings. As a Dental Assistant, you will be at the forefront of patient care, providing essential clinical and administrative support that directly contributes to the success of our practice and the satisfaction of our patients.
Key responsibilities
- Assisting dentists during clinical procedures, including chairside support, instrument passing and suctioning
- Preparing treatment rooms and sterilising dental instruments according to strict infection control protocols
- Recording patient medical and dental histories accurately and maintaining detailed clinical notes
- Providing chairside patient education regarding oral hygiene and post-treatment care
- Maintaining a clean, organised and compliant working environment
- Supporting infection control and safety procedures throughout the clinic
What we're looking for
- Current or recently completed Dental Assistant qualification Certificate III or IV or equivalent certification recognised in Western Australia
- Knowledge of dental procedures, terminology and clinical protocols
- Solid understanding of infection control and safety standards in dental settings
- Proficiency in using dental practice management software and computer systems
- Excellent communication skills and a professional, patient-focused approach
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy in record keeping and administrative duties
