About the Early Childhood/Primary School Teacher

We are seeking a suitably qualified and motivated Early Childhood or Primary School Teacher to join our passionate and dedicated team. The successful applicant will have highly developed interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships with children, families and colleagues. Working collaboratively with others, you will be committed to achieving the best possible outcomes for children. You will demonstrate a passion for teaching lower primary-aged children, along with the experience, creativity and innovation required to be an exemplary classroom practitioner.

Key Responsibilities include:

- Maintain a classroom environment which is stimulating, focused and engaging, and which reflects the school’s Core Values

- Effectively teach the WA Curriculum using appropriate teaching and learning strategies

- Keep abreast of any specific student needs and support these in the classroom





- Assess student work in line with school policies and procedures

- Contribute to the development of a strong learning community and culture

- Develop positive and professional relationships with children, parents and colleagues

- Contribute to collegial discussions and planning to improve the learning outcomes for children

- Contribute to and support whole school initiatives

Selection Criteria - Qualifications, skills and experience:

- Enthusiasm for working with children across the Lower Primary Years

- The capacity to cater for children with a range of abilities and learning styles within the classroom and to monitor, and respond to, student progress

- A record of cutting-edge practice, including inquiry-based learning and project work experience

- ICT Skills, knowledge and effective incorporation into classroom practice

- Support for the values and philosophy of our school

- A commitment to child wellbeing

- Uphold Child Safe Standards

- A track record of effective communication with children

- Knowledge and application of the WA Curriculum

Selection Criteria- Personal qualities:

- Enthusiastic, resilient and optimistic educator





- A high level of organisational ability; is flexible and can prioritise and manage multiple demands

- High level of communication skills

- Highly developed interpersonal skills which enable positive relationships to be built with peers, staff, parents and students

- Able to successfully work independently, and collaboratively, as part of a team

- A commitment to lifelong learning and continuous improvement

The successful applicant will have:

- Relevant Teaching qualification

- Current TRBWA registration

- WA Working with children check

- First Aid and CRP qualified or willing to obtain
