We’re recruiting for a purpose-led organisation looking for someone who enjoys the variety of a true generalist HR role and is keen to continue growing their career.

This is a great opportunity to build on your HR experience, broaden your exposure across the employee lifecycle and, over time, develop towards HR Business Partnering.

The role can be full-time or part-time (0.6 FTE) and is based in Surry Hills, with hybrid working arrangements in place.

About the role

This is a genuinely varied role working across the employee lifecycle. Some days will be about getting the important HR fundamentals right – contracts, systems, recruitment and employee queries – while others will involve supporting managers, working through people matters or looking at how processes could be improved.

The organisation is also going through a period of change, so we’re looking for someone who is comfortable when everything isn't perfectly defined, can use their initiative and enjoys finding practical ways to make things work better.

You’ll be involved in:

- HR systems administration, employee records, contracts and compliance

- Recruitment, including job design, advertising, interview coordination, offers and onboarding

- Supporting managers with day-to-day people matters and employee relations

- Helping with difficult conversations, conflict resolution and other workplace matters

- Coordinating induction, training and professional development

- Supporting employee engagement and culture initiatives

- Working with external providers including payroll, insurance and training partners

- Looking at opportunities to improve the employee and candidate experience

- Using data,



systems and technology to make HR processes simpler and more effective

- Supporting HR platforms including BambooHR and WorkRamp

- Exploring practical ways AI and technology can support the People & Culture function

About you

We’re ideally looking for someone with around 3–5 years’ experience in a generalist HR or People & Culture role.

You don’t need to know everything. What’s more important is that you have good HR foundations, are willing to learn and are comfortable asking questions and working things through.

You’ll probably enjoy this role if you:

- Like variety and being involved across different areas of HR

- Are organised and have good attention to detail

- Build relationships easily and communicate well with different people

- Are comfortable balancing administration with more complex people matters

- Have experience supporting recruitment and onboarding

- Have a positive working knowledge of Australian employment legislation and HR practice

- Are confident using HR systems and enjoy learning new technology

- Are curious about AI and how it can be used practically within HR

- Can manage competing priorities without losing sight of the detail

- Have a genuine interest in continuing to grow your HR career

Experience with BambooHR or WorkRamp would be helpful but isn't essential. Relevant HR qualifications and/or AHRI membership would also be well regarded.
