Our client is a privately held healthcare organization, operating clinics & hospitals across Australia. They're undergoing a major technology transformation to reimagine the patient and clinician experience through data, AI and digital innovation.

About the Role
Reporting directly to the Director of Data, this is a senior individual contributor role with no people leadership component. You'll be the primary technical authority within the data function, owning the architecture, build and performance of the business's on-premises data platform end to end, partnering closely with the Director and senior technology leaders.

- Salary is flexible but a guide would be $190k to $210k + super range.

Duties / Key Responsibilities

- Own the architecture, build and ongoing performance of on-premises data pipelines and databases end to end
- Design, build and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines using SQL Server, Python and Azure Data Factory
- Establish and maintain data governance policies, monitoring data quality and integrity across on-prem systems
- Oversee design, implementation and maintenance of on-premises SQL Server databases




- Partner across technology and operations to ensure data systems align with organisational goals and compliance standards

Skills and Experience

- Proven senior data engineering experience, ideally with on-premises environments
- Strong hands-on SQL Server expertise, including T-SQL and performance tuning
- Strong Python skills for data engineering and pipeline development
- Hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory for orchestration
- Solid ETL/ELT design and delivery experience across the full data lifecycle
- Comfortable as a senior individual contributor, with no interest in people management
- Strong stakeholder and communication skills
