In addition to teaching staff, we have a large team of professional support staff who are experts in their own areas. These staff are a vital part of our energetic School community and, alongside our teachers, strive constantly for what is best for the boys. Our professional support staff also have the chance to be involved in our co-curricular programs, working closely students, be that on the sporting field, on stage or otherwise.

The role

Applications are currently invited from experienced registered psychologists to join our pastoral care team in the part-time role of School Psychologist, Junior School. Note: this role will be required to work 2 or 3 days per week. Whilst our preference is to engage a registered psychologist, we are also open to also receiving applications from experienced school counsellors.

Commencing in January 2027, you will be responsible for the provision of counselling support to students in our Early Learning Centre and Junior School. In addition to this, the School Psychologist works closely with our Learning Strategies team to identify students with special learning and social/emotional needs.

As this is a significant role in the delivery of our pastoral care structure, the successful applicant will be able to demonstrate experience in:

- Providing psychological services to young boys in their early learning and primary years of education.
- Collaborating with academic and academic support staff to ensure the individual needs of boys are being met.




- Supporting staff with strategies for managing individual or group issues.
- Interpreting psycho-educational assessments.
- Engaging with parents and care-givers of boys, providing support and referrals as required.
- Interacting with external agencies and medical practitioners as required to support the needs of students.

Full registration as a Psychologist under the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), or as a Counsellor under the Australian Counselling Association (ACA) or Psychotherapy & Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA) is essential, as is a current employee Working with Children Check.

Membership of the Australian Psychological Society (MAPS) and previous experience in a school environment is highly desirable.
