Your Role
The Clients and Markets team at MinterEllison is a high-performing and critical contributor to the Firm’s growth. As the Senior Client Relationship Manager, you will play a key role in strengthening MinterEllison’s relationships with some of the firm’s most strategic clients. Working closely with Client Relationship Partners, industry teams and colleagues across the firm, you will develop and execute client plans that enhance the client experience, identify growth opportunities and support profitable, sustainable revenue growth. You will manage a portfolio of up to four strategic clients, with the opportunity to also support high-growth clients aligned to the firm’s three-year plan. You will work alongside the relevant industry team to enhance the client experience, grow and nurture client relationships and maximise financial performance.
In this role, you'll:
- Build trusted, long-term relationships with strategic clients and coach partners and lawyers to do the same.
- Co-develop and execute client plans with Client Relationship Partners to support client experience, relationship depth and sustainable revenue growth.
- Contribute as a key member of Client Leadership Teams, helping to align activity with client priorities and the firm’s strategy.
- Develop a deep understanding of each client’s business, people, challenges and opportunities, and share insights across the firm.
- Use client,
industry and market insights to identify opportunities, shape ideas and bring relevant solutions to clients.
- Prepare compelling client-facing materials and proposals, including proactive opportunities and responses to RFPs.
- Collaborate across practice groups, industries and business operations teams to bring the best of MinterEllison to clients.
- Champion best-practice client relationship management, including consistent use of client program tools, resources and ways of working.
Responsibilities
- Partner with Client Relationship Partners to develop, implement and monitor strategic client plans that strengthen relationships, enhance the client experience and support profitable, sustainable revenue growth.
- Act as a central source of client intelligence by developing a deep understanding of each client’s business, people, priorities, challenges and opportunities, and sharing relevant insights across the firm. This includes maintaining a visible client-facing role and building strong relationships with key client contacts.
- Use client, industry, market and financial insights to identify trends, shape opportunities and support informed decisions about client strategy and planning.
- Champion MinterEllison’s approach to client relationship management and service excellence, working with Client Leadership Teams to deepen and broaden client relationships.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with partners, lawyers, industry teams, Clients and Markets colleagues and business operations teams to deliver coordinated, client-focused outcomes.
- Work with partners and senior lawyers to identify and activate opportunities that expand our client footprint, strengthen market reputation and advance client objectives.
- Qualify, shape and develop high-quality proposals and client-facing materials, including responses to RFPs and proactive opportunities informed by client and industry insights.
- Support the commercial management of strategic client relationships, working with finance, pricing and other stakeholders to understand performance drivers, manage expenditure and maximise ROI.
- Manage the firm’s commitments under client agreements, ensuring client expectations and operational requirements are met, including reporting, secondments, information security and other client requests.
- Support client listening activities, including matter, mid-matter and relationship reviews, and help translate feedback into meaningful action.
- Use technology, including CRM and AI tools, to drive efficiency, collaboration and continuous improvement in the management of client relationships.
- Role model collaboration across teams and contribute to continuous improvement, learning and development for yourself and those around you.
What You’ll Bring
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in marketing, communications, business or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
- 7+ years’ experience in B2B business development, marketing, client relationship management or key account management, ideally within a corporate or professional services environment.
- A strong track record of developing and implementing business development, marketing or client strategies that support revenue growth, client experience and commercial outcomes.
- Strong relationship-building skills, with the ability to develop trust, credibility and rapport with clients, partners, senior stakeholders and colleagues across the firm.
- Commercial acumen and strong analytical, planning, organisational and project management skills, with the ability to work autonomously and collaboratively to manage multiple priorities, deadlines and budgets.
- Excellent influencing and negotiation skills, with the confidence to work with senior stakeholders and navigate complex or competing priorities.
- Strong written, verbal communication and presentation skills, with exceptional attention to detail.
- Sound judgement, resilience and problem-solving skills, with the ability to challenge thinking constructively and focus on practical outcomes.
- A proactive, cooperative and growth-oriented mindset, with a commitment to excellence, integrity and continuous learning for yourself and those around you.
- Comfort working with technology, CRM platforms and emerging tools, including AI, to improve ways of working and deliver better client outcomes.
