Nextt is looking for an experienced and passionate Senior Disability Support Worker / Team Leader to join our team within a Supported Independent Living (SIL) environment.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys being hands-on with participants while also taking on additional responsibility to lead by example, support the wider team and help drive high-quality client outcomes.
Working as part of Nextt's Client Experience Team, you'll play an important role in ensuring participants receive high-quality, person-centred support that empowers them to achieve their individual goals, uphold their rights and enhance their quality of life.
About the role You'll work as part of a local team around the person, supporting participants and working closely with Support Workers, the Client Experience Manager and other relevant stakeholders.
The role has a strong focus on ensuring the right support is being delivered in line with each participant's needs, preferences, goals and support plans.
You'll also help maintain a professional, supportive and client-centred culture, while providing guidance, coaching and support to the wider Support Worker team.
What you'll be doing
- Deliver high-quality, person-centred support across daily living, personal care and community participation
- Support participants to actively engage in their lives and work towards meaningful individual goals
- Lead by example and provide guidance, coaching and mentoring to Support Workers
- Help ensure support plans, behaviour support strategies and allied health recommendations are followed
- Work collaboratively as part of a team-around-the-person approach
- Support effective communication, handovers and day-to-day coordination across the team
- Identify,
troubleshoot and help resolve issues as they arise
- Ensure issues are appropriately documented, escalated and followed up
- Monitor the quality of documentation and ensure records accurately reflect the support being provided
- Assist with site-based processes, including health and safety activities, client data and required documentation
- Complete reporting, administration, auditing and quality and compliance activities
- Work alongside colleagues across a pattern of shifts to maintain consistency and quality of support
- Support the team to follow correct practice and procedures and provide feedback where improvements are required
- Work with the Client Experience Manager to ensure plans and practices remain current and accurately reflect participants' needs
- Help foster a positive, respectful and supportive team environment
- Celebrate participant achievements and contribute to sustainable, client-driven outcomes
About you We're looking for someone who is confident, dependable, proactive and passionate about making a difference.
You'll have the ability to work through complexity, support others and keep the focus firmly on the participant and their experience.
You'll ideally have:
- Previous experience as a Senior Disability Support Worker, Team Leader or similar
- Experience working within SIL and/or complex support environments
- Strong understanding of person-centred and human rights-based support
- Strong communication,
leadership, coaching and problem-solving skills
- The ability to guide and support others while remaining hands-on with participants
- Experience with documentation, reporting, compliance and quality processes
- The ability to recognise issues, respond appropriately and escalate when required

Essential requirements:
- Current First Aid & CPR Certificate
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Blue Card
- Current Driver's Licence
- Comprehensive Car Insurance
What you'll earn:
SCHADS Award PPT – B2.3 (before tax)
- Day Shift: $38.50 per hour
- Afternoon Shift: $43.31 per hour
- Active Night Shift: $44.28 per hour
- Saturday: $57.75 per hour
- Sunday: $77.00 per hour
- Public Holiday: $96.25 per hour
This position offers a combination of hands-on SIL support and administration, with:
- Up to 40 hours per fortnight working within the SIL setting
- 14 hours per fortnight allocated to administration
