At Barrow and Bench Mitre10, we're proud to be a modern, award-winning, family-owned hardware store and garden centre. We care about good service, getting stuck in and looking out for one another, and we're looking for a Retail Sales Consultant who'll feel right at home with that.

You might be helping a tradie find what they need to get back on site, talking through a weekend project with a local, or helping someone who doesn't quite know what they're looking for yet. Whoever walks through our doors, you'll help them feel comfortable asking questions and leave ready for the job ahead.

A bit of this, a bit of that and plenty of people

You'll get involved across the store, from offering advice and selling products to processing orders, keeping track of stock and looking after a department or two. It's a busy, hands-on role where being happy to pitch in makes all the difference.

with some retail or customer-facing experience? Your enthusiasm, curiosity and people skills could make you a great fit too.

You don't need to know every product on the shelf from day one. We're looking for someone who:

- Enjoys a chat, listens well and genuinely wants to help.
- Rolls up their sleeves and lends a hand when things get busy.
- Asks questions, takes initiative and is keen to learn.
- Has an interest in hardware, DIY or the trade industry.
- Looks out for their teammates and takes safety seriously.

Looking after people includes keeping them safe

The safety of our team, customers and community matters to us. You'll need to follow our health and safety policies, use secure work practices and speak up if something doesn't look right. Looking out for each other is part of the job, every day.

The role involves heavy lifting and other physical tasks, so you'll need to be comfortable carrying these out safely. A forklift licence would be a bonus, but it isn't essential.

This is a permanent, full-time position Monday to Friday, and a requirement to work every fourth weekend.
