Air Adventure Australia
Ocean Grove
Are you a commercially minded, detail-driven finance professional who enjoys taking ownership and making sure the numbers, systems and processes are working seamlessly behind the scenes?
Air Adventure is looking for an experienced Finance Manager to lead our finance function and play a key role in the continued growth of the business.
We are a multi-award-winning Hall of Famer specialising in private aircraft tours, golf travel and premium outback adventures, delivering unique, high-value experiences across Australia, Current Zealand and Africa.
Our business is exciting, detailed and operationally complex, and we’re looking for someone who enjoys combining financial expertise, commercial insight and collaboration to help keep everything on track.
The role
The role is hybrid - work from home plus our Ocean Grove office.
This is an opportunity to play a key role in the continued growth of Air Adventure, leading the finance function and providing the insight and oversight that supports the business’s success.
Working closely with the Managing Director, you’ll take ownership of financial reporting, cash flow, forecasting, insurance and statutory compliance, while overseeing the Bookkeeper and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the finance function.
You’ll also contribute to financial and commercial decision-making, including funding and business projects, and build strong relationships with our external accounting and advisory partners.
It’s a varied, hands-on role for a commercially minded finance professional who enjoys taking ownership and making a real contribution to a successful and growing business.
Responsibilities
- Oversight of Accounts Payable and Receivable - Review and approve invoices, payment runs and reimbursements prepared by the Bookkeeper. Oversee reconciliation of incoming payments and Rezdy order accuracy, with final sign off resting with this role.
- Bank and Cash Management - Oversee reconciliation of all bank accounts and credit cards, including client funds held against the Deferred Income control account.
Own cash flow forecasting and ensure liabilities are provisioned and funded ahead of due dates.
- Payroll Oversight - Review and approve weekly and monthly payroll, leave and superannuation processing prepared by the Bookkeeper.
- Statutory Compliance - Own completion of taxation, BAS, PAYG and Payroll Tax obligations, prepare annual Public Liability figures and Workcover remuneration and liaising directly with Pitcher Partners where required.
- Financial Reporting and Analysis - Prepare monthly management reports including Profit and Loss, Balance Sheet, KPIs and financial commentary. Maintain oversight of Tour Income versus Expenses, Deposits in Advance, and Profit and Loss budgeting, escalating variances to the Managing Director with commentary and recommendations.
- Strategic and Project Support - Support the Managing Director on financial structuring, funding and insurance decisions, including asset financing, credit facilities and business insurance renewals. Act as the point of contact for external advisors including Pitcher Partners and TWIYO on tax, structuring and commercial matters.
- Provide back-up support and leave coverage for the Bookkeeper, including AP, AR and general bookkeeping duties, to ensure the smooth continuation of financial operations.
- Golf and Flight Reporting - Review quarterly Golf Sales and monthly Flight Sheets.
- Team Leadership - Manage and develop the Bookkeeper, including workload allocation, quality review of processed transactions, and identifying process improvements.
