About The Position

Position Location: Port Augusta

Position Status: Part Time and Casual roles available.

Classification and Rate: SCHADS Level 3,



$40.49 per hour (exclusive of casual loadings and weekend penalties)

Closing Date for Applications: Sunday, 4th of October.

You will join our Supported Residential Care team, providing safe and stable accommodation for children and young people who cannot live at home. Many have experienced trauma or difficult circumstances. Your role is to help them feel secure, build confidence, and develop life skills for a brighter future.

You will work within a trauma-informed approach, supported by training and a strong team culture. Every day you will make a difference by creating positive routines, encouraging healthy choices, and being a trusted adult in their lives.

To ensure this role is the right fit for you and the young people we support, we include a Psychological Suitability Assessment later in the process. We will explain everything and support you through it after the interview stage.

This role offers the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of children and young people while building a rewarding career in therapeutic care. Whether you are an experienced support worker, transitioning from a related field, or beginning your journey in the human services sector, we provide training, support and career development to help you succeed.

You will:

- Support children and young people with high and complex needs to develop confidence, resilience and life skills.
- Build positive, therapeutic relationships with children and young people who have experienced trauma and adversity.
- Be prepared to work a 24/7 roster including overnight, sleepover, weekend and public holiday shifts.

You will have or be willing to obtain:

- Current Australian Drivers Licence.




- DHS Working with Children Check (SA) and a National Criminal History Check.
- Secure Environments for Children & Young People (Through Their Eyes)
- NDIS Clearance
- Certificate IV or higher in Youth Work, Child, Youth and Family Intervention, Community Services or a closely related discipline.

We still encourage you to apply if you are enrolled, nearing completion, or willing to commence a relevant qualification within six months of employment. Paid training and development opportunities are available.

You may also need to be available for some out of hours work and travel between Uniting Country SA sites or interstate as required.
