Islamic College of Brisbane is seeking an enthusiastic and suitably qualified Design & Technologies Teacher to join our Secondary Technologies team for an immediate start.

We are seeking a passionate teacher with the ability to deliver Design & Technologies to students in Years 7–10, with experience in one or more of the following areas:

- Materials and Technologies Specialisations

- Workshop-based Design and Technologies

- Wood, metal or other materials-based projects

- Food Specialisations / Food Technology

- Design thinking, prototyping and project-based learning

Experience with the Australian Curriculum Version 9.0: Design and Technologies would be advantageous.

The successful applicant will demonstrate a strong commitment to practical and engaging learning, safe workshop and classroom practices, and supporting students to develop creativity, problem-solving and design skills.

Working in a cooperative and future-focused learning environment, you will inspire students to think critically, communicate confidently, and develop a deeper understanding of themselves, their community and the wider world.

Selection Criteria

- Relevant qualifications and current teacher registration

- Full Australian working rights

- Ability and willingness to relocate to Brisbane, QLD, Australia at your own expense

- Successful teaching experience in Secondary education and an understanding of the Australian Curriculum

- Ability and willingness to contribute to the development and design of quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs

- Ability to support the wellbeing of students

- Demonstrated effective communication and collaboration with students, parents and staff

- Ability to work efficiently and collaboratively in a team environment

- Be fully supportive of the Islamic ethos, values and practices of the College
