Q-Main

Clontarf

Looking for variety? Put your skills to work across something different every day.

Q-Main is a privately owned civil and property maintenance contractor that has been operating since 2002.

From our Clontarf depot, we deliver maintenance, repairs and minor works across South East Queensland for government, utility, infrastructure, commercial and insurance clients.

Our work is extremely wide-ranging. One week you could be completing grounds maintenance and property repairs, the next installing high-security fencing, assisting with roofing works or working alongside our civil crew.

Due to continued growth, we're looking for a capable, hard-working General Tradesperson / Maintenance All-Rounder to join our Brisbane team.

We're not necessarily looking for one particular trade. We're looking for someone practical, reliable and willing to put their hand to whatever needs doing.

If you're the type of person who can look at a job, work out what needs to happen and get stuck in, we'd like to hear from you.

Why join Q-Main?

- Secure, full-time employment with an established company

- Varied work – no two weeks are the same

- Regular overtime opportunities

- Living Away From Home (LAFHA) work available

- RDO every second week – 9-day fortnight

- Depot-to-depot employment from our Clontarf depot

- Company vehicles, tools and equipment provided during work hours

- Training, licences and additional tickets supported

- Opportunity to develop across civil, maintenance, fencing and infrastructure works

- Career progression opportunities for the right person

- Supportive, down-to-earth team

About the Role

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys variety, working outdoors and being part of a crew that gets the job done.

Depending on the project, your work may include:

- General property and facilities maintenance

- High-security fencing and gate installation and repairs

- General fencing works

- Grounds maintenance, mowing, brush-cutting and vegetation management

- Roofing and building maintenance works

- Carpentry and general building repairs

- Doors, locks and hardware repairs

- Minor concreting and civil works

- Excavation, trenching and site preparation

- Painting, patching and finishing works

- Site clean-ups and general labouring

- Assisting trades and plant operators as required

- Working on government, utility and infrastructure sites

- Completing site documentation and job records

- Working safely around live operational and high-security environments

Some jobs will be completed independently, while larger projects will involve working as part of a crew.

There are also opportunities for overtime, regional work and Living Away From Home projects for employees who are interested.

About You

More than anything, we're looking for someone with a good attitude and strong work ethic.

You'll suit this role if you:

- Are practical and confident using tools

- Are willing to turn your hand to different types of work

- Take pride in doing a job properly

- Are reliable and turn up ready to work

- Can work independently without needing constant supervision

- Work well as part of a crew

- Are comfortable working outdoors and completing physical work

- Communicate professionally with clients and other contractors

- Have a strong commitment to workplace safety

- Are willing to learn new skills and obtain additional tickets

Experience in carpentry, construction,

fencing, civil works, roofing, landscaping, property maintenance or another trade environment would be highly regarded, but you don't need to tick every box.

A formal trade qualification is an advantage, but isn't essential for the right experienced all-rounder.

Essential

- Current Australian Driver Licence

- Construction White Card

- Full Australian working rights

- Ability to pass client and site-specific requirements

- Willingness to travel or work away occasionally when required

Highly Regarded

Any of the following would be an advantage:

- Carpentry or other trade qualification

- MR or HR Driver Licence

- Excavator or skid steer experience

- Working at Heights

- EWP ticket

- First Aid & CPR

- Chainsaw or vegetation management experience

- Asbestos Removal or Asbestos Awareness training

- Roofing experience

- Fencing experience

- Civil construction experience

- Experience working on government, utility, infrastructure or high-security sites

Don't have all the tickets? That's okay. For the right person, we're happy to support additional training and development.

Why Q-Main?

We're a practical business with a broad range of work and a team that isn't afraid to get its hands dirty.

We want people who take pride in their work, help their teammates and are willing to tackle whatever the day throws at them.

In return, we offer secure employment, plenty of variety, opportunities to earn additional money through overtime and away work, and the chance to develop skills across a wide range of maintenance, civil and infrastructure projects.

If you're a hard-working all-rounder who would rather be doing something different each day than repeating the same job over and over, we'd like to hear from you.

Apply today and tell us what you can bring to the Q-Main team.
