MacKellar is looking for an experienced Diesel Fitter to join our maintenance team at the established Curragh Mine, located just 15 minutes from Blackwater.
This is a permanent, full-time prospect offering long-term career stability, a lifestyle-friendly roster and the opportunity to work across a large fleet of heavy mining equipment.

About the Role

As a Diesel Fitter, you’ll be responsible for helping maintain the safety, reliability and performance of a large fleet of heavy mobile mining equipment.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

- Completing maintenance, repairs and component change-outs on heavy mobile plant
- Carrying out diagnostics, fault finding, inspections, overhauls and scheduled servicing
- Performing planned and preventative maintenance in a safe and efficient manner
- Providing daily operational support, including refuelling as required
- Working independently while adhering to site procedures and safety requirements




- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the maintenance team
- Ensuring all work is completed to required safety, quality and compliance standards

About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:

- A recognised trade qualification as a Diesel Fitter
- Previous experience working on heavy mining or earthmoving equipment
- Strong diagnostic, fault-finding and mechanical repair skills
- Current Queensland Coal Board Medical, or willingness to obtain
- Standard 11, or willingness to obtain
- Current Queensland Driver Licence
- A strong focus on safety and quality workmanship
