About The Role
This position plays a key role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity and timeliness of financial reporting across a national organisation. Working closely with the CFO and Group Financial Controller, the successful candidate will support informed decision-making through high-quality financial insights, strong controls and continuous process improvement, across both transactional accounting and broader reporting, compliance and improvement initiatives.
The Responsibilities
- Process accounts receivable invoices, manage debt collection and complete credit checks, and ensure accounts payable invoices are entered accurately and paid on time.
- Complete daily and monthly bank reconciliations, administer corporate credit cards and Weel, maintain the general ledger and manage the Accounts email inbox.
- Prepare accurate and timely week-end, month-end, quarter-end and year-end financial accounts and management reporting.
- Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations, resolve discrepancies, and assist with group consolidations and the reconciliation of intercompany balances and transactions.
- Support the preparation of statutory financial statements and the annual audit process, and ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements, including Business Activity Statement preparation.
- Identify financial risks and contribute to improvements in financial policies, controls and systems.
- Work collaboratively with the CFO and Group Financial Controller on budgets, forecasts and forward-looking P&Ls;, balance sheets and cash flows.
- Provide meaningful analysis, insights and ad-hoc reporting to support business decisions, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, including automation and process optimisation.
About You
- Degree qualified in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline, with CA/CPA qualification, or progress towards one, desirable.
- Experience in financial accounting, ideally gained within a multi-entity or group environment.
- Strong technical accounting skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
- Analytical, data-driven and commercially minded, with a genuine interest in process improvement and automation.
- Systems-savvy and comfortable working with financial systems and reporting tools, including intermediate to advanced Excel and Xero.
- Able to work independently while contributing effectively within a small, collaborative team.
- Robust organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing deadlines.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills, with a professional and approachable style, and a high level of integrity, professionalism and discretion.
