Masala Express Pty Ltd trading as Masala Indian Cuisine Aitkenvale is a well-established Indian restaurant located in Aitkenvale, Queensland, offering authentic Indian cuisine and exceptional customer service to dine-in, takeaway and catering customers.

We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Café or Restaurant Manager to join our team on a full-time basis and oversee the daily operations of our busy restaurant.

Duties and Responsibilities

Duties include, but are not limited to:

- Overseeing and coordinating the day-to-day operations of the restaurant, including staff, customer service, food service and overall business activities, to ensure efficient and smooth dining operations.
- Planning menus in consultation with Chefs, including menu updates, pricing and seasonal offerings.
- Planning, organising and coordinating special functions, catering services and promotional events.
- Arranging the purchasing, pricing and inventory control of food, beverages and restaurant supplies according to operational budgets.
- Maintaining records of stock levels, purchases, wastage, revenue and financial transactions.
- Monitoring restaurant performance and implementing strategies to improve profitability and customer satisfaction.
- Ensuring dining facilities comply with food safety standards, health regulations and workplace health and safety requirements.
- Maintaining the cleanliness,



functionality and presentation of dining and service areas.
- Conferring with customers to assess satisfaction with meals and service and promptly resolving complaints.
- Supervising daily restaurant operations to ensure efficient and high-quality service delivery.
- Selecting, recruiting, training, rostering and supervising waiting staff, bar staff and kitchen support staff.
- Managing reservations, greeting customers and assisting with customer service where required.
- Undertaking any other duties consistent with the position of Cafe or Restaurant Manager.

Skills and Experience

To be successful in this role, applicants should possess:

- A minimum of two years of relevant experience.
- An AQF associate degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma on a related field.
- Strong leadership, communication and customer service skills.
- Experience in staff supervision, stock control, budgeting and restaurant operations.
- Sound knowledge of food safety, workplace health and safety and hospitality compliance requirements.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
