Occupational Therapist / Rehabilitation Consultant

Coal Services is looking for an Occupational Therapist / Rehabilitation Consultant to join our CS Health team, supporting the health, wellbeing and recovery of NSW coal workers, their families and communities.
This is a great opportunity for an Occupational Therapist who enjoys a mix of case management, workplace-based assessments and rehabilitation consulting, while working closely with workers, employers and other key stakeholders to support safe and sustainable return-to-work outcomes.
We’re open to candidates looking for either permanent or 12-month contract arrangements, across our Woonona and Newcastle locations.
About the role:
- In this role, you’ll provide occupational therapy and workplace rehabilitation services across a varied caseload. Your work will include, but not limited to:
- Case management and return-to-work planning
- Activities of Daily Living (ADL) assessments and reporting
- Workplace assessments, task analysis and job demand assessments
- Functional Capacity Evaluations
- Liaising with workers, employers and other stakeholders throughout the rehabilitation process
- Providing education and preventative health initiatives
- Supporting projects and other occupational health services as required
- Maintaining accurate and timely client records and documentation
The role includes regular travel to customer sites, workplaces and CS Health locations across NSW, with some overnight travel required.
About you:
Your education, knowledge and skills will include:
- Experience in delivering rehabilitation consulting services and workplace assessments and task analysis (essential)
- Experience in delivering ADL assessments including prescription of basic equipment and home modifications
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively with workers, employers, insurers and treating practitioners
- Strong report writing, organisation and time management skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Valuable computer literacy and ability to manage competing priorities
- Ability and willingness to travel regularly across NSW, including overnight travel
- A collaborative approach and commitment to working effectively as part of a team
- Driver's license (essential)
