About the role

Thor Mechanical WA is seeking a Light Vehicle Mechanic to join our growing team in Stake Hill, WA 6181. This is a full-time position working Monday to Friday, offering a stable and rewarding career in the automotive trades. As a Light Vehicle Mechanic, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and repairing light vehicles to the highest standard, ensuring our clients receive reliable service and safe, roadworthy vehicles. This position is integral to our commitment to delivering quality automotive services across the Peel Region.

Key responsibilities

- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on light vehicles, including servicing, inspections, and diagnostic work

- Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using appropriate tools and diagnostic equipment

- Replace worn or faulty components including engines, transmissions, brakes, and suspension systems

- Conduct pre-delivery inspections and quality checks to ensure vehicles meet safety and performance standards

- Maintain accurate records of work completed, parts used, and vehicle service history

- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and workshop procedures

- Communicate effectively with customers regarding repair requirements and timelines

- Keep work areas clean, organised, and safe for all staff members

What we're looking for

- A recognised automotive trade qualification or equivalent experience in light vehicle mechanics

- Proficiency with diagnostic equipment, hand tools, and workshop machinery

- Robust mechanical knowledge with the ability to diagnose and repair complex vehicle systems

- Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship

- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team





- Valid driver's licence and willingness to test drive vehicles when required

- Strong communication skills and a customer-focused approach

- Reliability, punctuality, and a professional attitude to work

- Experience with specific vehicle brands or modern diagnostic software is desirable
