Our client is an established Electrical and Structural Solutions manufacturer with a strong reputation for delivering quality engineered products and solutions.
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead and manage engineering and manufacturing projects from initial requirements through to final delivery. Working closely with internal engineering, drafting, operations, supply chain and quality teams, you will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the required quality standards.
You will play a key role in coordinating technical documentation and ensuring that architectural, structural and performance requirements are achieved throughout the design, construction and manufacturing process.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and lead projects from commencement through to completion, ensuring project milestones, budgets and customer requirements are achieved.
- Review and analyse contractual and technical project requirements and establish appropriate project plans and priorities.
- Coordinate project kick-off meetings and maintain communication with customers, suppliers and internal departments.
- Direct and advise on design verification, drawing reviews and change control processes.
- Obtain and verify customer approvals for drawings, sketches and other technical documentation.
- Ensure the correct revisions of drawings and documentation are issued for construction or manufacture, with obsolete documentation appropriately controlled.
- Monitor project progress, identify potential delays or constraints and implement practical solutions to keep projects on track.
- Maintain project claim registers and monitor project budgets and costs.
- Communicate technical concerns, project risks and constraints to relevant stakeholders and management.
- Respond to customer and supplier technical queries and resolve issues effectively.
- Conduct final inspections of project documentation prior to dispatch and assist with goods-received inspections where required.
- Ensure projects comply with relevant Australian Standards, state requirements and applicable quality criteria.
- Work closely with operations, supply chain and other departments to ensure materials and products are correctly allocated and used for their intended project.
- Provide guidance, assistance and mentoring to team members to maintain high standards of quality and project delivery.
- Attend client worksites when required to support project delivery and resolve technical or project-related matters.
About You
You will be an organised and solutions-focused Project Manager with experience managing technical projects with an electrical background.
- Strong electrical engineering, electrical manufacturing or electrical industry background is essential.
- Proven experience managing technical projects within an electrical manufacturing, engineering, construction or related workplace from concept/design through to manufacture or deliver
- Strong understanding of electrical drawings, technical documentation, products and manufacturing processes.
- Experience coordinating multidisciplinary project teams and external stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of project budgets, timelines, milestones and contractual requirements.
- Experience with quality systems, non-conformance management and corrective actions.
- Understanding of relevant Australian Standards and regulatory requirements.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong attention to detail, particularly around drawings, revisions and technical documentation.
- The ability to manage competing priorities and adapt to changing project requirements.
- Experience working within a structured quality or integrated management system would be highly regarded.
