THE POSITION:
This is a 12-month maternity leave chance to join our Place Management team and contribute to projects that help create vibrant, connected and thriving communities.
Do you have a passion for creating vibrant, connected and thriving town centres? Fairfield City Council is seeking a motivated and community-focused Place Coordinator to help shape Cabramatta, Canley Vale, Canley Heights and Villawood in Cabramatta Place for a maximum term of 12 months, beginning November 2026.
Reporting to the Cabramatta Place Manager, you will coordinate and deliver a diverse range of projects and initiatives that support economic development, placemaking, business engagement, public domain management, marketing, activations and centre improvement programs. You will work closely with local businesses, community groups, government agencies and internal stakeholders to enhance the amenity, identity and vitality of our centres.
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the revitalisation and activation of some of Western Sydney's most dynamic centres while working within a collaborative and supportive team environment. ABOUT YOU:
To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate the following knowledge, skills and experience:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Marketing, Public Relations, Event Management or a related discipline.
- Experience managing and delivering projects, programs and initiatives from planning through to implementation.
- Experience coordinating events, promotional activities, place activation programs or community-based initiatives.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to build productive relationships with businesses, community groups, government agencies and residents.
- Knowledge of marketing, promotion and digital media practices, with the ability to support place-based initiatives and campaigns.
- Hold a valid Working with Children Check and current Class C NSW Drivers Licence.

SALARY & EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS:
- Temporary 12-month full-time position, working 70 hours per fortnight
- This position is a Grade 6, with a salary range of $99,134 p.a. with progression to $104,153 p.a. on demonstrated competencies, and performance progression up to $116,122 p.a., plus superannuation
