Our client, a well-established Victorian local council, is seeking a Building Surveyor (Limited) to join their team on a contract basis, focusing on swimming pool compliance across new and existing pool barriers.
About the Role
This role will be responsible for managing swimming pool compliance matters, including the preparation and issuing of Building Notices and Orders relating to both new and existing pool barrier non-compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess swimming pool and spa barrier compliance for new and existing pools.
- Prepare and issue Building Notices and Building Orders in relation to non-compliant pool barriers.
- Liaise with property owners, builders, and other stakeholders to resolve compliance matters.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in line with council processes.
About You
- Current registration as a Building Surveyor (Limited)
or Building Inspector, or eligibility for equivalent registration.
- Solid working knowledge of the Building Act, Building Regulations, and swimming pool/spa barrier compliance requirements.
- Confident, professional communication skills, with the ability to manage sometimes difficult compliance conversations.
- Well organised, with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage a caseload independently.
Flexible work arrangements available, contract role through to end January 2027.
