About the job
We are seeking an Improvement Coordinator to join our Operations and Maintenance team on an 18-month maximum term contract. In this role, you'll play a key part in identifying and delivering process improvement initiatives that standardise ways of working and support the delivery of efficient and sustainable operations across our business.

About Operations and Maintenance
Operations and Maintenance (O&M;) is where our essential services come to life. Our teams operate and maintain water and wastewater infrastructure right across South Australia, ensuring we continue to deliver services that communities rely on every day.
Working in O&M; means hands-on, meaningful work running treatment plants, maintaining critical assets, responding to faults, and solving real-world problems. Depending on the role, this may include rostered hours, on-call responsibilities, or weekend work.

Key responsibilities will include:
- Collaborate closely with business stakeholders, SMEs and teams to document current business processes and identify improvement opportunities.
- Use Lean and continuous improvement methodologies to recommend and implement future-state processes that drive operational efficiency.
- Leverage Data to Identify and Prioritize Improvement Opportunities through collaborate with data and technology teams to translate insights into actionable opportunities.
- Lead Cross-Functional Process Improvement Initiatives and drive medium-sized process improvement efforts that involve multiple departments or operational teams.
- Conduct End-to-End Process Analysis through the mapping, analysis, and redesign of workflows that span several functions or systems.
- Build continuous improvement capability by promoting successful initiatives, delivering training, and embedding a culture of service excellence.
- Actively engage stakeholders to ensure alignment and buy-in, and influence prioritisation and investment in improvement opportunities.
- Conduct field visits and liaise regularly with delivery teams to capture operational intelligence and uncover practical, impactful improvements.
Your success in this role will come from:
- Tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience in Lean Process Improvement.
- Strong experience in business process improvement (e.g. process mapping, Lean, Six Sigma).
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, with a proven ability to negotiate and build trusted relationships.
- Solid communication and facilitation skills to engage operational teams and drive shared outcomes.
Desirable:
- Working knowledge of operational business processes and enterprise systems.
- Experience supporting or delivering large-scale improvement initiatives in field-based or asset-intensive environments.
