Join Our Team as a Pool Lifeguard
Are you passionate about water safety and love working in an aquatic environment? Banyule are looking for dedicated Pool Lifeguards to work at our Ivanhoe Aquatic Leisure Center. These vital positions help to ensure our pools remain safe, clean, and enjoyable for all visitors.

You'll be working in a fun, supportive, and qualified team environment where you will be making a difference by keeping our community safe in the water. You'll:
- ensure active supervision of the aquatic environment and enforce facility rules, terms and conditions of entry to maintain a safe environment.
- ensure a safe environment by intervening early to prevent hazards and incidents from occurring.
- respond to incidents and emergencies as required.

Tuesday
3.00pm–6.00pm and 6.00pm–9.30pm
Wednesday
6.00pm–9.30pm
Thursday
4.00pm–6.15pm (school term only) and 6.00pm–9.30pm
Friday
4.00pm–6.15pm
Saturday
6.30am–10.30am and 10.30am–2.00pm and 5.00pm–8.00pm
Sunday
6.30am–10.30am and 8.30am–12.30pm (school term only) and 7.00pm–9.45pm (women only session)

What you'll bring/what we are looking for:
- A practical knowledge of pool supervision, water safety, water education, first aid, resuscitation, rescue techniques and public safety requirements -Prior Experience in a Lifeguarding position/ Surf Lifesaving Is highly regarded.
- Strong verbal communication skills.
- A strong customer service orientation in dealings with patrons, members and residents.
- Sound liaison skills in dealings with aquatic facility staff, Council staff and management.
- Experience in pool supervision is desirable
- Current Defibrillation Certificate is desirable

- Hourly rate from $36.79 to $38.54 (dependent on experience) per hour excluding super
- Consistency in shifts, working on a temporary part time basis

Mandatory Qualifications:
- CPR certificate
- Current RLSS / Life Saving Victoria Pool Lifeguard certificate.
- Current Level 2 First Aid
Pre employment checks:
- Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check (NCCHC)
- Pre-Employment Medical Check
- Working with children check
