Advance Sheet Metal is growing, and we're looking for a Sheet Metal Brake Press Operator to join our production team in Lonsdale, SA.

This is a hands-on role working across a diverse range of custom stainless steel fabrication projects. We're continuing to invest in new equipment, technology and improved manufacturing processes, and we're looking for someone who can help us increase efficiency and capability across our factory.

Trade qualifications are not required for this position. We're interested in people with the right practical ability, attention to detail and willingness to learn.

About You

- Brake press or machine operating experience: Previous brake press experience would be highly regarded, however experience operating machinery in a manufacturing or production setting may also be suitable.

- Ability to read drawings: Able to interpret fabrication drawings, dimensions and specifications, or willing and able to learn.

- High attention to detail: Able to work accurately and consistently to required measurements.

- Strong practical ability: Comfortable working with machinery, measurements and production processes.

- Reliable and motivated: Someone who takes ownership of their work and contributes positively to the production team.

- Sheet metal experience beneficial, but not essential: Experience working with stainless steel or other sheet metals would be advantageous.

About the Role

As a Sheet Metal Brake Press Operator at Advance Sheet Metal, you'll play an important role in helping us improve the flow and efficiency of work through our factory.

Your responsibilities will include:





- Operating the brake press: Setting up and operating the brake press to produce accurate folded components.

- Reading fabrication drawings: Working from drawings, dimensions and production information to complete jobs accurately.

- Machine setup: Selecting appropriate tooling and setting up jobs for efficient and accurate production.

- Quality checking: Checking completed components against drawings and specifications before they move to the next stage of production.

- Working with the production team: Liaising with programmers, fabricators and other factory staff to keep jobs moving efficiently through production.

- Improving efficiency: Helping us continually improve production methods and streamline our manufacturing processes.

- General production work: Assisting with other sheet metal and factory tasks where required.
