We're looking for an experienced, switched-on Home Care Scheduler who can help us grow without losing the personal approach that makes Poppy’s different.

Our Home Care Team Members are at the heart of the care we provide. They’re the people in our clients’ homes every day, building relationships, noticing the little things and making a real difference to the people they support.

We value them enormously, and great scheduling should reflect that.

Our Home Care Team Members work casually across the community under the SCHADS Award, so scheduling is about much more than simply looking at who is available. You need to consider:

- Client needs, personality, interests and preferences

- Continuity and relationships already built

- Team member skills, strengths and availability

- Location and sensible travel between clients

- SCHADS Award requirements and minimum engagements

- Service times, client routines and upcoming leave

- Sick calls, cancellations and the knock-on effect across the day

- What might happen next – spotting problems before they become problems

And sometimes, it’s the little things that make a great match.

Do they love gardening, dogs, cooking or getting out for a coffee? Which football team do they support – because matching two die-hard rivals for three hours every week could either be inspired… or a very brave scheduling decision!

Those details might not appear on a roster,



but they matter when two people may spend several hours together every week.

And the match needs to work both ways.

We want our Home Care Team Members to have well-planned days, sensible travel and continuity with clients they enjoy supporting. We want them to feel known, valued and listened to – not simply allocated to the next available gap.

Home care involves real people and real lives – and things change.

A Home Care Team Member becomes unwell. A client needs to change their service. A hospital appointment means services need to be rescheduled. An appointment runs over and affects everything that follows. A recent client needs services organised or someone's availability suddenly changes.

A great Scheduler doesn't just react to the first problem in front of them. They see the knock-on effect, think ahead, prioritise what matters most and find the best solution.

You'll need to think quickly, communicate clearly and keep everyone informed.

And when you say you're going to sort something out, you follow it through.

Ideally, you'll already have hands-on experience scheduling a casual home care or community-care workforce.

Experience understanding and applying the SCHADS Award to scheduling decisions would be a significant advantage.





We're also open to an exceptional scheduler from another complex mobile-workforce environment involving travel, changing priorities and matching people.

What we're not looking for is someone whose scheduling experience is primarily booking appointments into available diary times.

Great Home Care Schedulers can see the whole picture while remembering the little details that matter.

You'll be highly organised, quick-thinking and confident with technology. You'll have a great memory, communicate warmly and clearly, prioritise confidently, build strong relationships and take ownership when something needs sorting out.

Most importantly, you'll understand that the best solution isn't always the easiest one.

This is a full-time, five-day-per-week, office-based role working alongside our Care Partners, Clinical Nurse Manager, Home Care Team Members and our fabulous Support Team.

We can teach you our systems and the Poppy's way of doing things. What we're looking for is someone who brings the judgement, organisation, pace and people skills that great home care scheduling requires.
