We are seeking a talented Product Designer who can think like an engineer and ensure the feasibility of designs for high-volume production.

They are looking for an experienced, hands-on Product Designer to add value across their varied product range. You’ll be covering current and existing products that incorporate improved functionality and manufacturability.

The Role

As a Product Designer, you will play an essential role throughout the whole life cycle of the design journey, ensuring that frontend concepts are developed into engineered solutions for successful volume manufacturing. Key responsibilities include:
Designing and optimising physical products with a primary focus on Design for Manufacture (DFM)
Collaborating with the product team to assess feasibility and refine concepts into reliable, effective designs




Liaising with manufacturing partners in Asia to ensure processes align with design specifications
Occasional international travel to manufacturers may be required

Skills and experience

We are looking for an enthusiastic, results-driven professional who has:
3+ years of experience and proven ability designing physical products
Degree in a relevant field such as: Industrial Design, Product Design, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Aeronautical Engineering or Biomedical Engineering
Ability to manage your own workload as well as working effectively within a team
Knowledge of materials characteristics and manufacturing processes
Ability to express ideas effectively via concept sketching, rendering, prototyping, testing, technical drawings/DFM, written and verbal communication
Expertise with 3D CAD (preferably SolidWorks)

N.B. You must possess full, unrestricted and ongoing rights to work in Australia to be eligible for this role.
