We’re looking for someone who has a real passion for wood, woodworking and making things by hand. You don’t necessarily need previous professional experience, but you do need to be genuinely interested in the craft and excited by the opportunity to learn.

A solid applicant will:
Have a genuine passion for timber, woodworking and furniture
Be fascinated by how things are made and have an interest in developing practical skills
Take pride in producing work to a very high standard
Have excellent attention to detail and an appreciation for quality craftsmanship
Be curious, observant and willing to ask questions
Be patient and understand that developing exceptional skills takes time and practice
Have a strong work ethic and be reliable and punctual




Be comfortable working with their hands and learning to use hand tools and machinery
Be willing to listen, learn and take direction from experienced furniture makers
Have a positive attitude and contribute to a respectful workshop workplace
Be physically capable of working in a busy, hands-on workshop

A passion for wood and woodworking would be extremely advantageous. Perhaps you have made things at home, worked on timber projects, enjoy restoring furniture, have an interest in design or simply love working with your hands. We would love to hear about it.

Most importantly, we are looking for someone who really wants to learn the craft. The right person will have the opportunity to work with beautiful and unusual timbers, learn traditional furniture-making techniques and develop skills that can become a lifelong career.
