Job Summary

The Audio-Visual (AV) Technician is responsible for setting up, operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting audio, video, and lighting equipment for events and permanent installations. This role ensures high-quality technical support and smooth execution of AV services to meet client or organisational needs.

Key Responsibilities
Set up, operate, and dismantle audio, video, and lighting equipment for events and installations
Install and configure AV systems, including microphones, speakers, mixers, projectors, displays, cameras, and control systems
Perform sound checks, video testing, and system calibrations
Monitor live events to ensure optimal audio and visual performance
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues quickly and effectively
Maintain, repair, and inventory AV equipment
Collaborate with event planners, clients, presenters, and other technicians
Follow safety procedures and proper equipment handling guidelines
Document system configurations and provide basic user training when required

Required Skills and Qualifications




High school certificate or equivalent (technical certification preferred)
Proven experience as an AV Technician or similar role
Strong knowledge of audio, video, and signal flow principles
Familiarity with AV equipment, sound/audio, trussing, rigging, digital mixers, projectors, LED walls, and conferencing systems
Ability to troubleshoot under pressure in live environments
Strong communication and customer service skills
Ability to lift and transport equipment (often up to 25 kilos)

Preferred Qualifications
Sound Engineering
Experience with live events, corporate meetings, or broadcast settings
Knowledge of lighting systems and rigging

Pay: From $35.00 per hour
