Female NDIS Support Worker – Calm, Patient & Trauma-Informed

Grace Quality Care is seeking a kind, calm and emotionally mature female Support Worker to support a woman in her mid-30s in Melbourne’s western suburbs.

This role is particularly suited to someone who is gentle, patient and an excellent listener. The participant is sensitive and requires a worker who understands that building trust takes time. We are looking for someone who will not rush, pressure or overwhelm her, but instead take the time to listen, understand her preferences and allow a genuine working relationship to develop.

The successful worker should be comfortable providing trauma-informed, person-centred support and remaining calm and respectful when the participant is distressed, overwhelmed or needs space. She responds best to professionals who establish genuine, trusting relationships.

Support may include community access, companionship, assistance with everyday routines and activities, encouragement with self-care and supporting the participant to gradually work towards greater confidence and independence. Her longer-term goals include increased community participation, meaningful activities and developing sustainable daily routines.





We are particularly looking for someone who is:
Female, compassionate, patient and non-judgmental
A genuinely good listener with a calm personality
Emotionally mature and able to communicate sensitively
Reliable and consistent
Able to respect boundaries and recognise when someone needs space
Experienced with psychosocial disability and/or trauma-informed support
Willing to build rapport gradually rather than expecting immediate engagement
Able to maintain qualified boundaries while still being warm and personable
Appropriately qualified and compliant with NDIS worker requirements

This is not a role for someone who takes a forceful or overly directive approach. The right personality and ability to establish trust are extremely key.
