Sedgmoor Farm Trust is seeking a qualified Mechanical Engineering Technician to join our large-scale mixed farming operation near Bordertown, South Australia, for a temporary fixed-term position of approximately six months.
The role will focus on the inspection, diagnosis, maintenance and repair of agricultural machinery and equipment before, during and after harvest. The successful applicant will work across tractors, harvest machinery, implements, irrigation equipment and associated farm machinery, with particular emphasis on mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical fault diagnosis.
Key duties include:
Pre-harvest inspection, servicing and preparation of machinery
Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical faults
Preventative maintenance of tractors, harvesters and agricultural implements
Breakdown diagnosis and repairs during harvest
Field-based troubleshooting and repair
Post-harvest inspection, servicing and maintenance
Identifying faults and wear requiring repair or preventative work
Assisting with machinery reliability and reducing operational downtime
Applicants should have a relevant mechanical engineering, mechatronics, diesel mechanic or equivalent technical/trade qualification, robust fault-finding ability and practical experience maintaining complex machinery. Agricultural machinery experience is highly regarded.
Job Types: Casual, Permanent, Full time
Pay: $38.50 – $40.00 per hour
