Civil Construction | Heavy Plant | Projects Across Australia

Durack Civil is looking for an experienced Travelling Diesel Fitter to join our plant team, supporting civil construction projects across Queensland and interstate.

This isn’t a workshop role.

You’ll travel between our projects, working directly with site teams to keep a large and diverse fleet of civil construction equipment moving.

One swing could have you supporting a major road project in regional Queensland. The next could be an airport, mine infrastructure project or remote civil job somewhere else in Australia.

The role

You’ll be responsible for servicing, diagnostics, breakdowns and repairs across equipment including:
Excavators, dozers and graders
Loaders and articulated dump trucks
Rollers and compactors
Stabilising and pavement equipment
Trucks, water carts and support vehicles
General civil construction plant

The position can involve a combination of FIFO and DIDO, depending on where our projects are operating.

We’re looking for someone who:
Is a qualified Diesel Fitter / Heavy Vehicle Mechanic




Has robust experience with heavy earthmoving or civil construction equipment
Can diagnose problems rather than simply replace parts
Is comfortable working independently in remote locations
Understands that downtime on a civil project matters
Takes pride in their gear, workmanship and presentation
Is flexible and genuinely enjoys travelling
Has a current Australian driver's licence
Wants a long-term role rather than just the next shutdown

Experience across multiple OEMs and field-service environments will be highly regarded.
